The hearth bench has become a popular part of a medieval camp where it typically occupies a central place in the camp scene. It is perfect for most sizes of camp, does not damage the grass/ground it stands on and provides a good working height for the cook and campfire master.

The hearth bench can be disassembled and reassembled quickly and therefore does not require a huge trailer and 4 oxen to transport.

Note that there are actually no sources from the Middle Ages that indicate that travelers or permanent residents have used Arnebænke like these. They are therefore not historically accurate, but are still seen everywhere in markets because they are incredibly practical and beautiful. In the Middle Ages, travelers most often cooked food in clay pots over a fire, but since it can be difficult to make the logistics fit in a modern medieval camp, it is often easier with this beautiful and practical solution.

We build fireplace benches ourselves and usually deliver in connection with markets or via freight forwarder. The dimensions of the fireplace bench shown are 60cm x 90cm (Inner dimensions) but other dimensions can be agreed upon if a larger or smaller fireplace bench is needed. The price varies depending on size.

We have prices for our 2 standard sizes; 120x90 and 240x120, which are also the smallest and largest we can make.

The price includes the wooden chain hanger, but excludes chains, bricks and other kitchen equipment shown.
